Swedish ICT technology and services provider Ericsson announced Monday that it is planning to construct three new research and development centres that will focus on delivering interoperability testing services for new technologies underpinning cloud services.Ericsson says that over the next five years it will be investing about SEK 7bn in two new research and development centres located in Stockholm and Linköping, Sweden, and a third in Montreal, Canada....

The Cloud Foundry Foundation announced the addition of eight new members this week. Swedish equipment vendor Ericsson is to boost investment in the part of the business that caters to cloud and SDN initiatives, the company’s CFO said after 2013 earnings were released.The strength of the Swedish Kroner had a significant impact as revenues came in at SEK227.4bn (£21.2bn) for the year and SEK67bn for the quarter, both flat year on year.
