DataStax, a real-time AI company, has launched Astra Block, a new service within its Astra DB cloud database that makes it easier for developers to build and scale Web3 applications using the Ethereum blockchain dataset.

Astra Block makes it easy to copy the whole blockchain dataset with just one click. It also lets you do real-time data analysis in less than a second. The service is built on the Apache Cassandra database and updates in real-time as fresh blocks are mined.
“Blockchains are changing the way information is used and stored, but their potential is largely unrealized,” said Ed Anuff, chief product officer at DataStax.

The Astra Block service is available through the free tier of Astra DB, which offers 20 GB of partial blockchain data, or through the paid tier, which offers the entire dataset updated in real-time. Based on what users want, DataStax plans to add Astra Block to other blockchains in the future. Astra Block makes it easier for users to access and analyze blockchain data, as well as keeping it up-to-date.
