IBM announced yesterday that it had acquired Neudesic, a leading U.S. cloud services consultancy that specializes primarily in the Microsoft Azure platform, as well as multi-cloud expertise. As a result, IBM's portfolio of hybrid multi-cloud services will significantly expand with this acquisition, and the company's hybrid cloud and AI strategy will be further advanced.
IBM is investing in its hybrid cloud and AI strategy, extending its cloud services technology, talents, and capabilities to satisfy clients' growing demand for hybrid cloud services. Since Arvind Krish took over as CEO in April 2020, IBM has purchased more than 20 companies, including 12 in IBM consulting alone. Today's announcement builds on IBM's previous cloud transformation purchases, including Sentaca, SXiQ, BoxBoat, Nordcloud, and Taos.
Businesses are aggressively investing in their application portfolio to increase operational agility, and according to IDC, 69 percent of organizations worldwide view application modernization as a top or higher priority. The ability to expedite the digital transformation through cloud-based application development, modernization, and data capabilities play a critical role in achieving their operational goals.
