Wasabi Technologies Accelerate Global Expansion with Paris Storage Region

Wasabi Technologies, a hot cloud storage company, announced the opening of their storage region in Paris. This marked the next phase of Wasabi's aggressive global growth strategy in meeting surging demand for Wasabi hot cloud storage and provide key proximity to customers and partners across France.

The new storage region, Wasabi's first in France and ninth overall, is hosted at Equinix Paris and benefits from the high-speed network connection to improve service availability and performance across the region. As demand for local cloud storage grows exponentially across Europe, the facility's size and performance capabilities will support the company's future expansion.

"As digital transformation accelerates the use of cloud storage, organizations increasingly want to store their data in the country in which they operate. Wasabi's expansion into Paris helps us to effectively meet the demand for cloud storage in the growing French market while alleviating data sovereignty concerns,"

Richard Czech, VP EMEA, Sales, Wasabi Technologies

Following the surge in data production, analyst firm IDC predicts that the Public Cloud Storage Services market in France will grow by 40% annually in 2021. Additionally, different data protection and sovereignty requirements have enhanced European countries' desire to store data in the countries they operate. Wasabi recognized this requirement and began a large-scale deployment of European storage regions in 2019, starting with Amsterdam and, most recently, in London. In addition, Wasabi wants to grow its partner network that includes Exclusive Networks and a network of resellers and MSPs, to further fuel their operations across Europe in the next 12 months.

Wasabi hot cloud storage has redefined the industry with a solution that costs a fifth of what Amazon S3 does, has no fees for egress or API requests, and has no vendor lock-in. Wasabi is also an ideal product for the channel because every organization needs to store data, and it's simple to understand, bundle with other products and sell to address the most significant challenges organizations face today.
