Shares of technology companies surged on Thursday in a subdued broader market after better-than-expected results and revenue guidance from Cognizant boosted sentiment in the sector. The NSE's CNX IT index rose 1.9%, with Infosys gaining 2.4%, HCL Tech rising 3.8% and Wipro moving up 3.2%. U.S.-based Cognizant has acquired cloud-based computing firm, KBACE Technologies, for an undisclosed amount, according to a company statement.
