Akamai Announces Akamai Connected Cloud and New Cloud Computing Services

Akamai Technologies | February 14, 2023

Akamai Technologies, Inc., a cloud company that powers and protects online life, launched Akamai Connected Cloud. This is a platform for cloud computing, security, and content delivery that is spread out over a large area. It includes three new enterprise-scale core cloud computing sites across the U.S. and Europe, as well as 10 other core sites that Akamai plans to launch across the globe throughout the year. Also, Akamai has chosen more than 50 cities where it will start building distributed sites this year. These sites will bring basic cloud computing services to places that are hard for traditional cloud providers to reach. The new ISO, SOC 2, and HIPAA compliance standards, which are available right away, show how much Akamai cares about the security of its cloud computing services and the customer data they hold. They also make it possible for customers to move workloads between Akamai and other public clouds. Akamai's approach to cloud computing is fundamentally different. It adds core and distributed sites on top of the same backbone that powers its edge network. This will help companies build, deploy, and secure high-performing workloads that need a latency of less than 10 milliseconds and a global reach, like media, gaming, SaaS, retail, and government, in a more efficient way. Because Akamai is the leader at the edge, they can scale everything they do, like content, security, and cloud computing. Akamai's new distributed locations and Akamai Connected Cloud and the new distributed locations that will be launched around the world are both in line with what customers love most about Akamai, which is that it gives them the best edge and cloud platform that is distributed. Adam Karon is the Chief Operating Officer and General Manager of Akamai's Cloud Technology Group. He has led teams that help the top media, gaming, and software companies deliver the best experiences at scale. About Akamai Technologies Akamai gives life online power and protection.
