Agile Application Delivery Trio: Testing, Data and Environments

The advance of automation, virtualization and cloud technology has enabled faster software development than we’ve ever known. So why do so many companies ultimately fail to realize lasting improvements in the delivery speed and quality of new software? Simply repeating our old ways of equipping development and test teams in the cloud with more infrastructure can generate initial gains, but without coordination it falls flat. Join Orasi, Delphix and Skytap for this high value webinar, and learn about collaborative techniques for making development and test automation plans sing, by running in sync with just-in-time virtual data and virtual environments that closely resemble production.

Many businesses are looking to the cloud for increased IT agility and cost savings. As businesses develop their cloud infrastructure, security must be part of the groundwork to ensure that cloud servers, applications, and data remain secure in a cloud environment. Often businesses use traditional physical server security in virtual and cloud infrastructure. But this can cause resource contention issues, increase management complexity, reduce virtual machine (VM) densities, and lower expected return on investment (ROI).

Ensuring Cloud Native Success: Organization Transformation

Are you being asked to put more cloud in your strategy? If you’re like most people, the answer is a definite yes. The word “cloud” can mean so many things, however, that making an actionable strategy is impossible. At Pivotal, we divide cloud into two distinct parts: migrating as many legacy applications into SaaS as possible and focusing on perfecting the software you build in-house that runs your business. Gartner is predicting that by 2020, 75% of applications used to support digital businesses will be built in-house. If you’re one of these companies, you’ll need to quickly evaluate how you develop and run your custom written software.

Security and Accountability in the Cloud, the SANS 2016 Cloud Security Survey: Changes in Cloud Security

SANS Institute

With more complex workloads in the cloud, are organizations making the necessary changes to monitor and secure those workloads? This webcast explores how cloud security has changed, both in terms of effectiveness and choice of tools. In the 2015 SANS cloud survey, half of respondents complained they couldn't see well enough into the cloud to know when a cloud-based workload was in trouble and had no way to respond to trouble they did know about. More than a third had no way to test how secure a workload was, once it moved to the cloud. Encryption and access controls did some good, even in complex environments. But respondents said even those were difficult to apply consistently across a mishmash of workplace/productivity apps, DropBox or other storage services, and a host of other services often chosen by business units rather than IT.
