ISE with SAP was announced by SAP in January 2021. RISE with SAP is not a product, but an offering that initially combined SAP’s newly acquired business process intelligence solution with SAP S/4HANA Cloud, technical services to smooth the transition process, cloud infrastructure, and consumption credits for the SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP) in a single contract. SAP describes RISE with SAP as a holistic Business Transformation-as-aService (BTaaS) offering that goes beyond Infrastructure-as-a-Service or Software-as-aService to provide all the components needed to implement its intelligent enterprise in one bundle.
Since the initial release, SAP has expanded the offering to include industry and line-of-businessspecific extensions and RISE with SAP for Human Experience Management. While the offering has generated intense interest from the broader SAP community, much of that interest has been focused on trying to understand what RISE with SAP means for their organization. For many, this has started with how it impacts their existing plans for SAP S/4HANA, but others are looking at RISE with SAP more from the perspective of what it can offer in terms of business transformation.
