Wasabi Technologies | February 02, 2023
On February 1, 2023, the cloud storage company, Wasabi Technologies, introduced Wasabi Surveillance Cloud, a first-of-its-kind solution that avails organizations to offload video surveillance footage from local storage to the cloud without running out of space. This 'bottomless' approach to video storage is important for the surveillance industry, which is currently struggling to handle a lot of videos in high-resolution environments, growing file sizes, retention requirements, and strict regulatory and business and analytics applications tied to surveillance.
Wasabi Surveillance Cloud addresses storage space, resolution related and other challenges head-on by designing a seamless hybrid storage environment that preserves present on-site technology investments and maximizes their ROI without letting them lose any of the benefits. Users of every significant video management system (VMS) can move videos that are not used often directly from their on-site servers to Wasabi hot cloud storage, which involves low cost than AWS S3, Google, or Microsoft Azure and doesn't charge for egress or API requests. The data on the video is kept "hot" so that it is always available and can be retrieved in milliseconds. With Wasabi Surveillance Cloud, a VMS technology that was once separated from the cloud, becomes cloud-aware in an instant, making it easy to switch to cloud storage.
Wasabi Surveillance Cloud's Key benefits include easy integration with all of the major VMS providers, Industry-leading protection with immutability to stop ransomware or accidental deletions, data and video restoration direct from the cloud, globally deployed in top-tier data centers certified for SOC 2, ISO 27001 and PCI-DSS, on-demand scaling ability to avoid costlier server upgrades and to increase the framerate and resolution. Additionally, HIPAA, CJIS, FERPA, FINRA, and other primary industry and government regulations and retention requirements are fulfilled with this solution's help.

Snowflake | January 20, 2023
The Data Cloud company, Snowflake, recently announced that it signed an agreement to acquire Mobilize.Net's SnowConvert, the leading set of tools that helps efficiently migrate databases to the Data Cloud. The acquisition's closing relies on the receipt of all necessary regulatory approvals and the fulfillment of other customary closing conditions.
The major challenge with platform migration remains the code conversion which is required to confirm that all the legacy database functionality can be shifted to the cloud with minimum effort and time. The SnowConvert toolkit has long been the best way to move customer workloads to Snowflake. It uses advanced automation techniques to reduce the need for manual coding and ensure that migration projects are successful.
The toolkit has demonstrated its ability to significantly reduce migration effort and greatly speed up the migration of legacy databases to Snowflake through the built-in analysis capacities at a data-type and procedure level, as well as corresponding to Snowflake native types after converting more than 1.5 billion lines of code1 with SnowConvert. In addition to converting legacy databases, SnowConvert converts Python and Scala workloads, making it simple to move that code to Snowflake's Snowpark development environment.
Ted Brackin, Snowflake's VP of Professional Services, said, "One of our key objectives at Snowflake is to make it as fast and simple as possible for our customers and partners to unlock value from data. For many organizations, that starts with the efficient migration of their legacy databases and applications to the Data Cloud," He also said, "With the acquisition of SnowConvert, we can help more customers, partners and more broadly, our Snowflake partner network move more data and applications into the Data Cloud, enabling customers to obtain faster value from their investment in Snowflake sooner." Salt Security | January 30, 2023
Salt Security, one of the prominent API security companies, has recently declared to integrate with Google Cloud Marketplace as a Build Partner to provide users direct access to its platform that is providing cyber-attack detection and prevention, API discovery, and shift-left features.
This integration empowers Google Cloud customers with optimized visibility and control over API traffic. It uses artificial intelligence, machine learning, and massive cloud data to baseline users and APIs, thus providing continuous automated discovery of those APIs and exposing sensitive information. It is capable of blocking and detecting complex API attacks, including those mentioned in the Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP) API Security Top 10 list. Its shift-left features include pre-prod testing, OAS analysis, and detailed remediation insights. It also offers features available on the Google Cloud platform like identification of API and sensitive, exposed data, production prevention from exploits, runtime protection, visualization of APIs, tracking threats, attack simulation, and remediation insights.
Gilad Barzilay, Salt Security’s Head of Business Development, said, "By joining the Google Cloud Marketplace, Salt reinforces its ongoing commitment to bolster the protection of sensitive company data and files in the constantly evolving Google Cloud ecosystem." He added, "By integrating Google Cloud environments with the Salt Platform, customers can see and protect all APIs running within these environments through dynamic API discovery."
