Q&A with Joseph Sacchetti, Channel Chief at Zadara

Media 7 | January 25, 2021

Joseph Sacchetti, Channel Chief at Zadara, comes with a demonstrated history of success in the computer software industry. He is an MIT-trained sales professional with spectacular presentation ability to large groups, and possess magnetic skills of reaching diverse audiences. Apart from being a combat-decorated US Army Ranger, he is also the author of Guts, Smarts & Love, a blueprint on business and high-performance leadership forged on the battlefield.

Hire great people that are hungry and want to be the best, and we can build an empire together.

MEDIA 7: You have a long track record of successfully working in multiple roles and managing diverse marketing teams. What interested you to join Zadara?
JOSEPH SACCHETTI:
The thing that excites me the most is the chance to build a team from scratch into a fully-functioning, high-performance machine. All you need is a great product and visionary leadership from the executive team – and I found both of those at Zadara.

M7: What differentiates Zadara from other cloud computing and cloud storage platforms?
JS:
Everyone knows big is not always better – not when nearly every company today needs customization! The big clouds offer a set menu and you better need something on it. Otherwise, you’re likely to pay astronomically high and unpredictable bills. Zadara’s hosting services offer Compute and Storage for companies’ apps and data – totally personalized to the workload – where you need it and how much of it you need (yes, no hidden charges).

Read! You’re not done at 22 – think of the advantage you’ll have in the business world if you keep improving for 20 more years.

M7: How would you define your leadership style? Do you prefer working closely with your employees, or maintain a healthy distance from them? Why?
JS:
Collegial & inspirational is my aim! Ever since commanding Army Rangers in combat, I’ve learned to embrace the supportive, teaching role. Hire great people that are hungry and want to be the best, and we can build an empire together. Give them any help and training they need and turn them loose on the world.

M7: What are the challenges that you face regarding handling and maintaining such highly developed AI technologies?
JS:
Technologies are evolving so fast nowadays that previously successful people and companies aren’t able to continue their winning streak unless they stay ahead of the curve. It’s a challenge to convey to a company that has had rich success with the previous generation of technology that it’s time to evolve to the next level if they want to stay on top.

Don’t stop learning! Build your network: LinkedIn gives us a gateway to meet thousands of like-minded professionals.

M7: How do you prepare for an AI-centric world as a Business Leader?
JS:
Smart business leaders need to offer their clients the ultimate shortcut to mastering the leading-edge advancements in Security, AI, and virtualization – all to be powered out on the edge, in the cloud, and delivered on a consumption basis! Our CEO, Nelson Nahum has the visionary ability to be making this a reality.

M7: What is your secret to maintaining a healthy balance between work and personal life?
JS:
The elite military teaches us to wake up every morning, make our bed, run 3-5 miles to keep the body razor-sharp, and then hammer away at the day’s awesome obstacles that await. Downtime is crucial – build in time every day to read and sometimes write - & plan recuperation time a couple of times a year with your toes in the sand or sipping coffee in European cafés.

M7: Your advice to the budding entrepreneurs?
JS:
Don’t stop learning! Build your network: LinkedIn gives us a gateway to meet thousands of like-minded professionals. Read! You’re not done at 22 – think of the advantage you’ll have in the business world if you keep improving for 20 more years. In my own time AFTER college, I honed my Italian, learned Spanish and Portuguese, traveled to 100 countries, dove deep into the Pharmaceutical and Tech industries, went back to MIT for an Exec Ed education, and just wrote a book on Army Ranger & Business leadership called Guts, Smarts & Love: Live Your Life the Army Ranger Way.

Secret: Everyone can do it!
