Amdocs Fast-tracks PCC as-a-Service Offering in the Age of Cloud and 5G

Amdocs | June 28, 2021

Amdocs has declared that now it can deliver PCC (Policy and Charging Control) in the cloud, manage as a service, and on-premise.

According to Amdocs, deploying Policy and/or Charging Control "as-a-Service" can fast-track the ability of the service providers to position themselves beyond their legacy core connectivity business. It will also support developing an ecosystem with a new capability ecosystem that rapidly links service requirements to business results.

This easy and cost-effective technology consumption model also authorizes service providers to easily place advanced 5G PCC functionality parallel to any legacy systems in operation. The microservices-based, cloud-native solution allows updates at a granular level constantly. When delivered as a service, Amdocs coordinates and manages the operations on behalf of the service provider. As a result, it reduces downtime risk and sudden upgrades and brings the benefit of constantly updated core network software. Amdocs Policy and Charging Control also provide the most refined mix of extremely small and extensive elastic scalability. It evolves from a highly centralized software stack expected to provide everything for all services to enormously distributed and extremely flexible edge cloud and mobile edge computing.

John Abraham, the Principal Analyst, Research, at Analysys Mason, says, "Communications service providers and vendors have been sluggish in adopting SaaS models for monetization platforms due to ambiguity and risk. Instead, they should focus on the benefits of SaaS to adopt and monetize the platforms sector."

Anthony Goonetilleke, Group President, Media, Network and Technology, Amdocs, says, "Now the service providers have the tools to quickly launch and deliver a wide range of scalable new services. These services have advanced charging and policy competencies consumable on-demand through Amdocs' as-a-Service solution. In addition, they can monetize their cloud and edge assets with exceedingly flexible and tailored usage-based approaches aimed towards large, small- and medium-size business, and a vast partner ecosystem."

ThycoticCentrify Expands Centralized Service Account Lifecycle Governance to Multi-Cloud Environments

ThycoticCentrify | December 22, 2021

ThycoticCentrify, a leading provider of cloud identity security solutions formed by the merger of privileged access management leaders Thycotic and Centrify, today announced enhancements to its industry-leading solution for service account governance, Account Lifecycle Manager. This release allows organizations to gain control over their growing number of privileged service accounts, offering full lifecycle management in multi-cloud environments. As companies accelerate digital transformation efforts and accommodate the increase in remote workers, multi-cloud environments have become the norm, with most companies using a combination of platforms to manage a variety of applications and processes. With many cloud platforms in the mix, account management and governance are extremely challenging, complex, and time-consuming. Access controls that organizations rely on for on-premises service accounts aren't nearly as granular in the cloud if they exist at all. Each cloud platform has its own interface and security controls, so IT teams must learn their unique differences and remember to manage each one. As a result, cloud-based service accounts can easily become a security risk if not managed correctly and with the right tools. Account Lifecycle Manager now makes it possible to discover, provision, and manage service accounts for all major cloud providers – Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, and Google Cloud Platform – from a central, policy-based solution. "Increasingly, automation and rapid development have given rise to a wide variety of service accounts used by cloud and hybrid applications and we're going to see their use expand in numbers and complexity. Account Lifecycle Manager gives teams the ability to ensure consistent security policies, account governance, and multi-platform reporting." Jon Kuhn, Senior Vice President of Product Management at ThycoticCentrify With ALM, organizations can now: Discover unmanaged accounts and bring them into central management Stay on top of account changes through alerts and audit reports Provision new accounts according to standardized access control and governance policies Define account approval workflows, and set timing requirements for when accounts are reviewed, expired, disabled, or deleted Update policy and workflow templates and easily associate accounts to new versions, while maintaining an audit history of changes Integrate with ThycoticCentrify Secret Server and third-party ticketing systems like Service Now out of box More information about Account Lifecycle Manager, including a free 30-day trial, is available at https://thycotic.com/products/account-lifecycle-manager/ About ThycoticCentrify ThycoticCentrify is a leading cloud identity security vendor, enabling digital transformation at scale. ThycoticCentrify's industry-leading privileged access management solutions reduce risk, complexity, and cost while securing organizations' data, devices, and code across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments. CAST Partners with Google Cloud to Accelerate Application Modernization

CAST | April 08, 2022

Today CAST announced a new arrangement with Google Cloud to help accelerate the migration and application modernization programs of customers worldwide, complementing the Google capabilities already available through the Google Cloud Application Modernization Program (CAMP). “Enterprises and software vendors are increasingly looking to take advantage of the agility, efficiency, and rich catalog of Google Cloud for complex custom-built applications, which are mostly designed for different environments and need to be modernized or refactored for cloud,” said Marc Zablit, Executive Vice President Business Development at CAST. “Typically, there is no accurate intelligence available about their actual architecture or what needs to be changed inside.” CAST products provide insights into the inner workings and structural condition of custom-built applications, essential for speeding up and de-risking their migration and modernization to cloud: CAST Highlight can analyze hundreds of applications in a week to pinpoint what needs to change in the source code, the effort required, the best-suited Google Cloud services to use, and the best migration path to take. CAST Imaging then automatically reverse engineers the actual architecture of a given application into interactive application maps to help architects and developers navigate key modernization steps, such as re-platforming, re-architecting, framework or database replacement, breaking monoliths into services. Once in the cloud, continuous use of CAST ensures the applications remain agile, safe, and resilient. “Technologies that provide new ways for enterprises to analyze the inner workings of complex software applications have become increasingly important to organizations’ modernization roadmaps,” said Erwan Menard, Global Director, Infrastructure and Applications Modernization Solution Engineering at Google Cloud. “We’re pleased to partner with CAST to provide customers with the products and expertise they need to plan, accelerate and de-risk complex migrations and application modernization programs.” Hundreds of enterprises and leading system integrators, such as Accenture, BAH, CGI, DXC, IBM Services, Infosys, LTI, Wipro, already use CAST products to enable safer and faster migration to cloud. About CAST CAST, the software intelligence category leader, provides technology that automatically generates insights into the inner workings of software applications, with MRI-like precision - composition, architecture, transaction flows, cloud readiness, structural flaws, legal and security risks. It’s becoming essential for faster modernization for cloud, raising the speed and efficiency of Software Engineering, better open source risk control, and accurate technical due diligence.
