China Telecom opens cloud computing park in Mongolia

China Telecom on Wendesday announced the opening of a cloud computing datacentre in Inner Mongolia, close to Beijing, as part of a 17.5bn yuan (£1.8bn) investment in the technology.China Telecom’s Inner Mongolia Information Park consists of a cloud computing datacentre, call centres, warehouses, offices and living quarters for staff.The new information park is part of the first cloud computing base in the Inner Mongolia region and is one of six cloud computing datacentre projects being developed in the region by China’s three telecoms providers, including China Mobile’s Hohhot datacentre and China Unicom’s Northwest datacentre.
