DISCO is Named to the 2021 Forbes Cloud 100

Business Wire, Inc. | August 11, 2021

DISCO has been named to the Forbes 2021 Cloud 100, the definitive ranking of the top 100 private cloud companies in the world, published by Forbes in partnership with Bessemer Venture Partners and Salesforce Ventures. For the second year in a row, DISCO is the only ediscovery company, and the only company headquartered in Austin, to earn a spot on this year’s prestigious ranking.

“DISCO has been cloud native and AI-driven from day one. Legal organizations that are prioritizing digitization and cloud technology adoption trust DISCO to increase lawyer productivity, improve lawyer job satisfaction, and ultimately empower lawyers to improve legal outcomes,” said DISCO CEO Kiwi Camara. “We are honored to once again receive the prestigious Forbes Cloud 100 recognition, as we continue to expand our platform to power the legal function across multiple industries around the world.”

For the sixth straight year, the Cloud 100 reviews submissions from hundreds of cloud startups and private companies each year. The Cloud 100 evaluation process involved ranking companies across four factors: market leadership (35%), estimated valuation (30%), operating metrics (20%), and people & culture (15%). For market leadership, the Cloud 100 enlists the help of a judging panel of 34 public cloud company CEOs who assist in evaluating and ranking their private company peers.

“The companies of the Cloud 100 list represent the best and brightest emerging companies in the cloud sector,” said Alex Konrad, senior editor at Forbes. “Every year, it gets more difficult to make this list — meaning even more elite company for those who do. Congratulations to each of the 2021 Cloud 100 honorees and to our 20 Rising Stars up-and-comers poised to join their ranks.”

“The private cloud ecosystem continues to see historic rates of digital transformation,” said Byron Deeter, partner at Bessemer Venture Partners. “Private cloud valuations are getting bigger as the market’s appetite for cloud continues to grow. These founders represent the absolute best in cloud computing today, and they appear likely to follow in the footsteps of our esteemed Cloud 100 alumni. Congratulations to these cloud leaders!”

"How we work has undergone a paradigm shift and businesses of all shapes and sizes are reimagining the tools that are needed to ensure working from anywhere is a sustainable, long-lasting solution," said Alex Kayyal, Managing Partner, Salesforce Ventures. “The last 18 months have made digital transformation an urgent imperative and the cloud has never been more pivotal in powering our new digital economy. The companies on this list represent the leaders and businesses shaping the future of the cloud ecosystem and we are excited to partner with Bessemer Venture Partners and Forbes to honor these trailblazers of the industry.”

The Forbes 2021 Cloud 100 and 20 Rising Stars lists are published online at www.forbes.com/cloud100. Highlights of the list appear in the September 2021 issue of Forbes magazine.

Carrier-grade networks form the global communications infrastructure that support millions of phone calls each day and, even more importantly, the massive global data transfers, predominantly resulting from the Internet. These carrier-grade networks are operated by hundreds of companies often deployed on top of physical infrastructure (cabling and switches). These infrastructures are usually not owned by the network operator but have to follow different regulations in each country and likely traverse several billing domains at any given point-to-point connection.

Lightspin Launches Free AWS Cloud Security Tool to Reveal Publicly Exposed Cloud Assets on Any Domain

Lightspin | April 06, 2022

Lightspin, the next-generation cloud security platform, today announced the first free AWS cloud security tool that scans any and all domains to reveal publicly exposed cloud assets.Recon.Cloud is a free AWS cloud threat intelligence resource that provides a clear view of any domain's current exposure from an attacker's perspective. Users will have vastly greater visibility into and increased transparency of their publicly exposed assets. Attack surface management is a rising challenge of cloud migrations. Gartner predicts that, through 2025, 99% of breaches in cloud environments will come as a result of human error, such as misconfiguration of cloud roles, permissions, and policies. Existing subdomain enumeration tools do not provide the granular specifics for cloud environments. Unlike other tools, Recon.Cloud scans provide a full picture of an AWS environment with all AWS metadata accessible within the user interface. Users can then easily export their results via a JSON file or incorporate their findings into the Lightspin platform to see even more contextual risk within their broader attack surface. With Recon.Cloud, we are helping to solve the issue of poor visibility in cloud environments. Recon.Cloud is specifically designed to focus on only the pertinent publicly exposed cloud assets in a domain. DevOps and red team members can use Lightspin's free and easy-to-use threat intelligence tool for an in-depth picture of their AWS environment with the option of exporting and analysis just one click away. It also allows security operations to scan targets for research or to better understand recent acquisitions during threat modeling." Gafnit Amiga, Director of Security Research at Lightspin. About Lightspin Lightspin's next-gen cloud security posture management (CSPM) platform protects cloud and Kubernetes environments from build to runtime and simplifies cloud security for security and DevOps teams. Using advanced graph-based technology, Lightspin prioritizes risks across the cloud environment focusing security efforts on the critical issues that matter most. Lightspin serves Fortune 500 customers across the globe and is headquartered in Tel Aviv, Israel with offices in New York, NY.

AMD Selects Google Cloud to Provide Additional Scale for Chip Design Workloads

AMD | May 21, 2022

Google Cloud and AMD today announced a technology partnership in which AMD will run electronic design automation (EDA) for its chip-design workloads on Google Cloud, further extending the on-premises capabilities of AMD data centers. AMD will also leverage Google Cloud's global networking, storage, artificial intelligence, and machine learning capabilities to further improve upon its hybrid and multicloud strategy for these EDA workloads. Scale, elasticity, and efficient utilization of resources play critical roles in chip design, particularly given that the demand for compute processing grows with each node advancement. To remain flexible and scale easily, AMD will add Google Cloud's newest compute-optimized C2D VM instance, powered by 3rd Gen AMD EPYC™ processors, to its suite of resources focused on EDA workloads. By leveraging Google Cloud, AMD anticipates being able to run more designs in parallel, giving the team more flexibility to manage short-term compute demands, without reducing allocation on long-term projects. "In today's semiconductor environment, the speed, scale, and security of the cloud unlock much needed flexibility," said Sachin Gupta, GM and VP, Infrastructure, at Google Cloud. "We are pleased to provide the infrastructure required to meet AMD's compute performance needs and equip the company with our AI solutions to continue designing innovative chips."
