Huawei's Founder Ren Zhengfei Makes Cloud Computing its Priority

With US sanctions putting a stranglehold on Huawei Technologies Co's 5G and cell phone organizations, organization founder Ren Zhengfei said the Chinese tech monster should make cloud computing its need.

In an inner discourse conveyed in November and shared on a staff gathering two days before the new year, Ren conceded that cloud services had not been a strength and the firm expected to make a "breakthrough".

“It is impossible for us to simply follow the same path as Alibaba and Amazon … They have access to unlimited money in the US stock market,” he said, alluding to Huawei’s status as a non-publicly traded company.

“Our enterprise business needs to scale back its battlefront … If our strategy is too broad, we will lose our combat strength.”

New York-recorded Alibaba, which claims the South China Morning Post, and Amazon are both tech combinations whose tremendous organizations range from e-commerce, video streaming, and cloud computing among others. Huawei, then again, has principally centered around telecoms and smartphones.

Ren contended that Huawei ought to gain from the accomplishment of Amazon and Microsoft, the leaders in worldwide cloud services, by zeroing in on infrastructure as a service (IaaS) and platform as a service (PaaS).

In IaaS, clients generally pay an expense to utilize computing assets, for example, systems administration and data storage.

In PaaS, they pay for a blend of computing assets and infrastructure for coding and conveying programming over the web.

The company should focus on securing major corporations and companies in major industries as its cloud clients, Ren said.

While Amazon and Microsoft lead the IaaS market around the world, Huawei is now one of the significant suppliers in China alongside Alibaba and Tencent.
