Infor, a global leader in business cloud software, has announced the completion of an enterprise resource planning (ERP) software implementation of Infor LN at Warszawskie Metro. This deployment will support finance and accounting, sales management, materials, overhauls management, repair management, controlling, budgeting, and reporting.
Up to 750,000 commuters use Warsaw's underground railway services every day, totalling almost 200 million passengers each year. These figures will rise as the network expands as the second line extension nears completion and the construction of the M3 line is planned. The company has a workforce of 2600 people. Aside from passenger transportation, the corporation also caters to the responsibilities of the day-to-day maintenance and operation of the tunnels, stations, rolling stock, equipment, and construction monitoring.
"A key to the project was the migration of data involving the transfer of over 95,000 records from previously-used applications. Without this process and the involvement of key users, it would not have been possible to launch the new solution,"
Radosław Zacharewicz, S&T's enterprise solution architect
The Warsaw Metro needed a modern software-based solution to cater to the increasingly complex technology, operations, information, and resources. This would also facilitate the process of making appropriate decisions to boost operational excellence and contribute to top customer satisfaction levels. The Infor LN enterprise application was chosen after thoroughly examining the markets and available options.
One of the primary goals for the new system was to meet as many business needs as possible through conventional system functions. This resulted in shortening the time necessary for implementing the new solution and reducing expenditures on system maintenance. In addition, using the Infor LN technology, business-critical maintenance and traffic continuity assurance management requirements were delivered without the need for customization or software modifications.
With the implementation of the cutting-edge ERP system, The Warsaw Metro effectively optimized and boosted the effectiveness of managing the critical area process.
