Nokia announces new Software-as-a-Service services in analytics security and monetization for CSPs and enterprises #MWC22

Nokia Oyj | February 21, 2022

Nokia announced two new Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) services in the areas of security and analytics, as part of its strategy to give communication service providers (CSPs) and enterprises a more flexible and cost effective way for servicing their customers, and operating and monetizing their networks, as advanced 5G services are rolled out.

The new services follow Nokia’s recent launch into SaaS to help CSPs and enterprises accelerate the time to value they realize from their services offering by shifting to an agile model based on software consumed purely on demand through a subscription, and away from customized software run on costly, complex, on-premise infrastructure.

As opposed to classic SIMs, embedded SIM (eSIM) and integrated SIM (iSIM) technologies can store and manage multiple subscription profiles remotely for authenticating users and devices on mobile networks. iSIM Secure Connect gives control to automate the entire eSIM/iSIM management process and will open opportunities to monetize services linked to trusted digital identities.

Nokia’s iSIM Secure Connect, through a SaaS delivery model, enables CSPs and enterprises to securely manage machine-to-machine and consumer device subscriptions for eSIM- and iSIM-enabled devices.

As 5G network complexity has increased the need for advanced analytics, Nokia is strengthening its AVA offering with new SaaS capabilities based on NWDAF (Network Data Analytics Function), part of 5G Standalone architecture.

Nokia AVA NWDAF enhances network operations with AI/ML driven closed-loop automation, improves customer experience, and drives new sources of revenue.

With its distributed architecture and open APIs, AVA NWDAF helps CSPs provide analytics at the network edge; implement analytics services defined by 3GPP; and create partnerships with software developers.

AVA NWDAF will be commercially available in a SaaS delivery model later this quarter. Nokia’s iSIM Secure Connect is currently expected to be available as SaaS later this year, and will still be offered to customers in other deployment models. Nokia’s SaaS-based NetGuard Cybersecurity Dome and Nokia Anomaly Detection, both announced in November 2021, will be available later this quarter. NetGuard Cybersecurity Dome enables CSPs to assure 5G networks and monetize security tied with services like 5G slicing; while Nokia Anomaly Detection is a machine learning service aimed at finding and remediating network anomalies before they affect customers.

Nokia plans to introduce other new SaaS services in the areas of core, digital operations, monetization, and private wireless later this year and into 2023.

As its SaaS product roadmap evolves, Nokia expects to deliver essential capabilities through open-source application programming interfaces (APIs) that are operable across many hyperscale platforms. This will create a multi-vendor SaaS delivery framework that makes the most of Nokia’s partnerships with leading cloud providers and its ongoing investments in cloud-native software and other technologies.

To fully tap the wealth of opportunities that advanced 5G services offer, communication service providers and enterprises need new deployment models that enable faster service delivery to customers in a smarter, more cost-effective manner. Solution suppliers such as Nokia with its new Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) security and analytics services, are turning to SaaS as a means for helping the telecom space modernize and monetize investments faster.”

Karl Whitelock, Research Vice President, Communications Service Provider Operations & Monetization at IDC

Raghav Sahgal, President of Cloud and Network Services at Nokia, said: “Adopting Nokia AVA NWDAF and iSIM Secure Connect through the SaaS model will greatly improve the time-to-value that CSPs and enterprises can realize by having on-demand access to services. These latest Nokia SaaS services strengthen our leadership position in helping our customers change the very foundation of how our industry does business.”

Cisco Unveils Innovations Driving New Security Cloud Strategy English

Cisco | June 07, 2022

RSA Conference – Cisco, the leader in enterprise networking and security, unveiled its plan for a global, cloud-delivered, integrated platform that secures and connects organizations of any shape and size. The company is designing the Cisco Security Cloud to be the industry's most open platform, protecting the integrity of the entire IT ecosystem - without public cloud lock-in. "With the complexity of hybrid work, continued acceleration of cloud adoption, and the ever-advancing threat landscape, organizations are looking for a trusted partner to help them achieve security resilience. We believe Cisco is uniquely positioned due to its scale, breadth of solutions and cloud-neutral business model to meet their needs," said Jeetu Patel, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Security and Collaboration at Cisco. "Cisco is already delivering upon key tenets of our cloud platform vision. We're excited to increase our innovation velocity to truly deliver on the vision of the Cisco Security Cloud." The Security Cloud will provide an integrated experience for securely connecting people and devices everywhere to applications and data anywhere. With unified management, the open platform will provide threat prevention, detection, response, and remediation capabilities at scale. Cisco has been on the journey toward the Security Cloud for some time and is sharing additional progress with new innovations across its security portfolio. Secure Access Ushering in the next generation of zero trust, Cisco is building solutions that enable true continuous trusted access by constantly verifying user and device identity, device posture, vulnerabilities, and indicators of compromise. These intelligent checks take place in the background, leaving the user to work without security getting in the way. Cisco is introducing less intrusive methods for risk-based authentication, including the patent-pending Wi-Fi fingerprint as an effective location proxy without compromising user privacy. To evaluate risk after a user logs in, Cisco is building session trust analysis using the open Shared Signals and Events standards to share information between vendors. Cisco unveiled the first integration of this technology with a demo of Cisco Secure Access by Duo and Box. "The threat landscape today is evolving faster than ever before, We are excited to strengthen our relationship with Cisco and deliver customers with a powerful new tool that enables them to act on changes in risk dynamically and in near real-time. You can expect to see more innovation and execution from Box and Cisco that help businesses protect their content across any location, application, or device." Aaron Levie, CEO and Co-founder of Box Secure Edge To radically simplify how organizations connect and protect users, things, and applications, anywhere, Cisco is excited to introduce Cisco+ Secure Connect Now, a unified Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) solution. Cisco+ Secure Connect Now is a turnkey offer available in several countries that allows customers to quickly deploy SASE and ease day-to-day operations through a cloud-managed platform. The as-a-service subscription is optimized for value and managed through a unified dashboard. Cisco offers unmatched breadth and depth in its networking and security capabilities, which is why Telefonica Tech will add Cisco's SASE suite to its service portfolio. "As businesses shift to support hybrid work and work from anywhere models, we are committed to helping them adapt to the increased demand for high performing and secure connectivity," said Rames Sarwat, Director of Cyber Security & Cloud Products and Services at Telefonica Tech. "Together with Cisco, we will offer customers an innovative, managed service that will combine SD-Branch with Cisco SASE to address a complete set of next-generation connectivity and security use cases for the branch and the hybrid worker." Secure Operations Cisco added a new Talos Intel On-Demand service offering custom research on the threat landscape unique to each organization. To help accelerate incident detection and response, Cisco announced enhancements to Cisco Secure Cloud Analytics with its ability to automatically promote alerts into SecureX and map those alerts to MITRE ATT&CK. This follows the general availability of SecureX device insights to aggregate, correlate, and normalize data about the devices in their environment, and the integrations of Kenna and Secure Endpoint to better prioritize vulnerabilities. Cisco also introduced the Secure Firewall 3100 Series, designed for hybrid work with a new encrypted visibility engine that uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to detect hidden threats. Simplification Cisco is introducing simplification across the portfolio with the new unified Secure Client. Streamlining how administrators and users manage endpoints, half of Cisco Secure agents, including AnyConnect, Secure Endpoint, and Umbrella, will be unified by mid-year 2022 with additional agents to be added over time. This follows the new cloud-delivered Secure Firewall Management Center, which is enabled through the Cisco Defense Orchestrator and unifies management of both cloud and on-premise firewalls. ManageEngine will showcase the new offering at its user conference to be held on August 4-5, 2022, at the InterContinental Melbourne in Australia. IT operations nowadays are structured in a way that warrants the use of several monitoring tools and technologies to ensure the business remains operational and accessible to its customers around the clock. While these disjointed IT tools provide visibility into their area of operations, they fall short in providing complete visibility into IT as a whole, costing IT leaders time and effort in gathering insights. Analytics Plus' new cloud offering completes the IT application stack by creating a foundation for integrations, allowing organizations to connect to a multitude of data sources and attain faster time to market, increase productivity, curb expenditure and garner more revenue. "At ManageEngine, we've witnessed several digital transformation trends over the last two decades across all industry verticals: rapid cloud adoption, a need for setting up a data-centric culture, and the need for advanced AI to sift through data lakes and establish correlations, triage events, and eliminate the need for human intervention in data analysis, That's why we've launched the cloud version of Analytics Plus—a marriage of our 20+ years of domain expertise with cloud benefits like flexibility, agility and scalability to help augment strategic decision-making with insights that are fast, reliable and contextual." Rakesh Jayaprakash, product manager at ManageEngine Analytics Plus can be deployed in on-premises servers (Windows or Linux-based), Docker or on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure and Google Cloud. IT and Business App Connectivity to Track IT Performance Holistically Analytics Plus now connects with more than 40 business applications such as Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Stripe, SurveyMonkey, Google Analytics, Xero, QuickBooks, Salesforce CRM, and LinkedIn along with over 30 IT monitoring applications such as SolarWinds, Nagios, Splunk, DataDog, AppDynamics, and OpenNMS to help IT leaders get a holistic view of IT performance. Support for these new apps will enable IT leaders to measure the ROI of IT along with how IT has contributed to achieving business objectives. Context-Aware AI to Deliver Domain-Level Intelligence ManageEngine has also enhanced its built-in AI assistant with domain-level intelligence to bridge the gap between data and decision makers. "Contextual AI can deliver the most crucial insights at a large scale that will resonate with IT leaders. For example, context-aware AI can suggest how to deploy workloads in the most cost-effective and high-performing cloud locations, taking into account performance, cost structure and security requirements," said Jayaprakash. Analytics Plus' context-aware AI enables users to: Establish correlations between data from various applications and data sources. Quickly identify opportunities and threats. Gain granular insights into aspects of IT operations and business that might not be possible otherwise. Stan Veloutsos, IT service desk manager at Regis Aged Care in Australia, said, "Analytics Plus helped us improve processes by 30%. Using Analytics Plus, we were able to deep dive into IT data, identify problems and trends, align project releases and also increase agent performance. It also helped us share our findings with a larger audience for better reach. With Analytics Plus, we have also set up easy-to-read dashboards for our CXOs with custom metrics and widgets, so they can gain information and make decisions that can increase our revenue." Pricing and Availability The cloud version of Analytics Plus offers a Professional edition at $199/month for two users and three viewers. The Enterprise edition starts at $399/month for 10 users and 25 viewers. The Personal edition is available for free forever and supports one user. A free, fully-functional evaluation is also available. For more details on pricing, visit https://mnge.it/ySN About Analytics Plus Analytics Plus is an AI-enabled, IT analytics solution that connects with over 200 IT and business applications to enable CXOs to converge analytics on a single pane for faster decision-making.
