Salesforce introduces the Cloud 3.0 approach

Cloud 3.0, the almost overnight shift toward digital enterprise, is the new reality of the way companies do business. According to a senior executive, Salesforce is doing its best to help a more remote and distributed workforce, which promises to be here to stay.

In a world where corporate negotiations are no longer sealed with a handshake and other face-to-face encounters, Salesforce is looking to capitalize on the ongoing purchase of Slack, as well as acquisitions of MuleSoft and Tableau in recent years. According to Bill Patterson, executive vice president, and general manager of CRM applications at Salesforce, this would enable the organization to improve teamwork and customer experiences while still achieving Cloud 3.0 infrastructure at scale.

The impetus is to answer the basic question, "How do we facilitate trust between parties in an all-digital era?" Patterson said, "Along with these wonderful questions comes an incredible ability to innovate."

Salesforce has been busy planning how to improve the digital roadmap since last fall. Salesforce most recently launched the next wave of Sales Cloud 360 in late March, intending to assist sales companies of all sizes in increasing revenue and efficiency in a digital-first marketing environment.
